About Me

Hello! My name is Bobbi Jo Jelinek and I am the new elementary school counselor for Richland #44. I am so excited to begin my new adventure and look forward to meeting the students, staff, and families of the Abercrombie/Colfax community. I grew up in South Dakota and graduated from a small school much like Richland #44. I love small schools and what they have to offer students and their families and am thrilled to be joining the team.

For fourteen years I worked at Southeast Region Career and Technology Center serving K-12 in Fairmount and 9-12 at Wahpeton High School. The past four years I have been working part-time for St. John’s School in Wahpeton providing counseling services for grades K-6. My undergrad is in Elementary Education, and I have a master’s degree in School Counseling from MSU Moorhead. It my passion to help young people be successful.

As the new elementary school counselor, I look forward to working with teachers, administrators, and parents to help all students thrive. The role of the school counselor is to help students with a variety of issues in the areas of academics, social and emotional learning, and career awareness. I will be providing weekly classroom lessons, holding small groups to help students with similar issues, and seeing students individually for those students who need extra support. I encourage parents to stop in and say hello and to reach out with any concerns or questions.

Best,

Mrs. Bobbi Jo Jelinek
